The Culture and Arts Authority in Dubai (Dubai Culture) has revealed the granting of cultural visas to "1000" creators and artists of various nationalities during the next stage, as part of the expansion plan to grant long-term cultural visas, the first of its kind in the world, approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in 2019, and a term of up to 10 years, subject to renewal, to make Dubai a global center for culture and creativity, and a forum for talents from writers, thinkers, researchers and artists from around the world.

The expansion of granting this visa comes to maximize the benefits of the participation of creators and specialists in the intellectual and knowledge fields in support of the thriving cultural scene in Dubai, and to contribute to the cultural economy and its development process, in a manner that is also in line with the UAE's strategy to create a harmonious and sustainable society that attracts and embraces the most prominent Arab creative energies and talents. Dubai Culture stated that it had received 261 nomination requests for cultural visas from intellectuals and creative people belonging to 46 nationalities from around the world, and 120 applications, including the basic and optional requirements that were set based on clear and transparent criteria, have already been issued the bulk of those visas, The remaining batch is in progress.
