African migrations are much more diverse and complex than one might think.

Not only is the proportion of Africans who decide to try the adventure abroad is relatively low, but most migrants do not seek to go to Europe: they stay on the continent.

The Presses Universitaires du Québec have just published a collective work that moves away from reductive approaches on this subject.

It is called Migration and Governance in Africa and elsewhere.

The researcher Sylvie Bredeloup is one of its authors.
