A car with two occupants was on Sunday on the Autobahn 2 in Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt in a chase with the police.

Three officers were slightly injured and three company cars were damaged, as the police in Magdeburg announced.

The 38-year-old driver of the escape vehicle is being investigated for, among other things, road traffic hazard and resistance to law enforcement officers.

The man fled a police check on Sunday with his car and a 26-year-old passenger in Braunschweig.

He should be checked for stolen license plates.

Then he raced on the A2 and partly on a federal road to Magdeburg.

He pushed a civil vehicle of the Lower Saxony police from the road.

When trying to drive back towards the autobahn, the getaway vehicle collided with two other emergency vehicles before it could finally be stopped.

Positive drug test

When he was arrested, the 38-year-old offered considerable resistance, and his co-driver was arrested without resistance.

Both were slightly injured in the previous collision.

A rapid drug test was positive, and the 38-year-old also does not have a driver's license.

While the man was still in police custody on Monday, the 26-year-old was released.
