The fine particle air pollution alert, linked in particular to dust from the Sahara, was lifted in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes on Saturday and will be lifted on Sunday in Bourgogne-France-Comté.

On the other hand, it remains active in the south of France.

"The air masses transporting Saharan particles are moving away from our region and the situation should clearly improve" with an "overall average" air quality, the Atmo Auvergne-Rhône agency indicated in a bulletin. Alpes, responsible for monitoring air quality.

Dispersion more difficult on the mountains

The air quality should however "remain degraded to bad in some alpine valleys where dispersion is more difficult", as in the Arve valley, in Haute-Savoie, according to the organization.

Consequently, "all active vigilance is lifted today at 1:30 p.m., except for the Arve valley on which red vigilance remains activated".

Eight of the twelve departments of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region were concerned by this red vigilance (Haute-Loire, Rhône, Savoie, Haute-Savoie, Drôme, Ain, Isère and Loire).

In Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, "the alert procedure on persistence is lifted" from Sunday in all departments, "as well as all automatic regulatory measures due to forecast weather conditions, favorable to dispersion. pollutants ”, according to the bulletins of the Atmo antenna in the region.

The alert had already been lifted this Saturday in the Yonne.

Corsica, the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes on borrowed time

The Bas-Rhin prefecture did the same, explaining that "according to forecasts from Atmo Grand Est, the weather conditions allow the situation to improve".

In New Aquitaine, the prefecture of Vienne indicates that "the episode of pollution with suspended particles (PM10) is over" and announces that the measures put in place Thursday "are no longer active".

The prefecture of Creuse announced in a press release the lifting of the alert procedure, but the prefectural system remains activated, as in Corrèze, Dordogne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Haute-Vienne, still in red, according to Atmo Nouvelle-Aquitaine .

The red alert is also maintained on Saturday in Corsica, the Var and the Alpes-Maritimes, according to the Atmo antennas of these departments.
