Most of the signatures for the recall and dismissal request of Governor Omura of Aichi Prefecture were not recognized as valid, and the signatures submitted to the prefectural election administration committee were submitted after the merger of cities, towns and villages about 15 years ago. According to an interview with the people concerned, it was found that there were many notations of "characters" that were no longer used.

Police will analyze the seized signature book in detail and investigate how these signatures were made.

The Aichi Prefectural Election Commission has suspected that 83% of the approximately 435,000 signatures submitted for Governor Omura's recall / dismissal request were not valid and that a large number of signatures were forged. I filed a complaint with the Aichi Prefectural Police Headquarters on suspicion of violating the Local Autonomy Law.

Due to this issue, it is said that about 90% of the signatures submitted were suspected to have been written by the same person, but the "character" that was no longer used after the merger about 15 years ago. It was newly found by interviewing the people concerned that many notations of were included.

Of these, in a part of the signature book of Yatomi City, after being written as "Yatomi City", the "character" that was used in the towns and villages before the merger in April 2006 and then disappeared is written. In addition to that, a part of the signature book of the neighboring city of Aisai also contained the "character" that was used until the 2005 merger.

Many of the handwritings are similar, and it is possible that the old list before the merger was used.

Police will analyze the seized signature book in detail and investigate how these signatures were made.
