It's war between Taylor Swift and ... a Utah theme park.

The reason ?

The park in question is called Evermore Park and he allegedly used his songs, including those from his latest album called

Evermore

, without his permission.

Earlier this month, Evermore Park officials sued the singer, claiming they owned the rights to use the Evermore name.

According to them, the interpreter of

Shake it Off

violated these rights by selling derivative products inspired by the title of his album.

Taylor Swift therefore chose to counterattack, hoping to scare the lawyers of the amusement park.

The artist's complaint, relayed by

Variety

, indicates that several Evermore Park employees were hired to "regularly play songs subject to copyright, in front of huge crowds."

Without authorization

Taylor Swift's complaint adds that park officials have ignored warnings from BMI, the association that manages copyrights for American artists, for a year.

The popstar's legal team says it wasn't until they realized a lawsuit was imminent that lawyers for Evermore Park decided to take legal action against her.

Other artists would be affected, such as Katy Perry, ABBA, the Beatles, Billy Joel, Britney Spears, Green Day or Whitney Houston.

Taylor Swift's lawyers are demanding not only damages but also a strict ban on using his songs without permission.

Evermore Park, on the other hand, which owns the domain name evermore.com (and claims to have paid $ 300,000 to get it), insists that the fabric badges, plastic embellishments, handbags, tote bags, key rings and key pouches inspired by the singer's album look like the souvenirs sold by the park.
