On February 24, the Changzhi and Jincheng areas of Shanxi were hit by a blizzard, and some sections of the road were covered with snow as thick as 30 cm. The highways in Jincheng and Changzhi areas were closed one after another.
The highway maintenance department mobilized a large number of forklifts to shovel snow on the road, but due to too much snowfall, some vehicles were trapped on the main line of the highway.
That night, all policemen from the third and fourth detachments of the Shanxi Highway Traffic Police were dispatched to shovel snow with shovels and other tools and push carts to rescue them. They rescued more than 1,000 trapped vehicles and helped nearly 2,000 trapped people.
