Johnny Depp and Amber Heard will not be in court next May.

The

star's libel lawsuit

against his ex-wife has once again been postponed and is now scheduled to take place on April 11, 2022. The reason?

The pandemic makes it very difficult to set up a civil trial with jurors, as criminal trials take priority.

The Fairfax County, Virginia judge handling the case had no date available until next year, according to Deadline.

First scheduled for last September, the trial was first delayed at the request of Johnny Depp, due to the new shooting dates for his film

Fantastic Beasts 3

(from which he was fired two months later), then a second time by Judge Bruce White to deal with the various delays accumulated by the court since the start of the health crisis.

late last year.

The audience promises to be chaotic, as Johnny Depp has included the NGO ACLU, as well as Elon Musk, whom he suspects of having had a relationship with Amber Heard during their marriage.

The actress, for her part, asked Disney and the Los Angeles police last January to give the court all the information in their possession on her ex-husband.

While depositions are still awaited and the elements continue to accumulate on both sides, Deadline says it is possible that the trial will be postponed once again.
