On February 24, the Yuanmingyuan held a press conference, and 365 precious old photos were released, most of which were shown to the public for the first time.

The photos released this time cover related buildings in the Old Summer Palace, Changchun Garden and Qichun Garden.

Among them, the full-body photograph of Manjushri in the Manjusri Pavilion of Zhengjue Temple, which was taken in the 1920s, was discovered for the first time and is particularly precious.

In addition, the press conference also released for the first time the photos taken by the Frenchman Xie Manlu before and after the destruction of the wooden buildings in the Old Summer Palace around 1882, including the old summer palace Shun Mutian, Beiyuan Mountain Village, Yuyueyuanfei and other buildings. It clearly shows the condition of these buildings before they were completely destroyed.

It is understood that these rare old photos were collected from all over the world by Liu Yang, vice president of the Beijing Society of History and Folklore, and are of great significance to the future research and restoration of the Old Summer Palace.
