On the 24th, the plaintiffs requested the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare not to appeal after the decision to cancel the reduction was issued on the 22nd, saying that the country's response to the reduction of welfare expenses was illegal.

The national government has reduced the amount of welfare payments by up to 10% from 2013 to 2015, reflecting the decline in prices.

Recipients have filed trials all over the country seeking cancellation of the reduction, but the Osaka District Court handed down a judgment on the 22nd to cancel the reduction, saying that it is illegal to deviate or abuse discretionary power. ..

In response to this, seven plaintiffs, lawyers, and supporters of this trial visited the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on the 24th and handed the person in charge a request not to appeal.

In addition, the request form requires that the standard for the amount of welfare payment be returned to before it was lowered, and that the opinions of users be reflected when reviewing the standard in the future.

At the same time, we submitted the signatures of more than 8,600 people calling for the improvement of the livelihood protection system.

At the press conference after the request, lawyer Tetsuro Kokubo said, "It is most necessary to retroactively correct the reduction of the welfare expenses of users nationwide, so I would like to continue working in the future."

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says that it would like to "examine the content and discuss it with related ministries and local governments" regarding future measures.

Class action proceedings over this reduction have been filed in 30 locations nationwide, and although the judgment was the second case, it was the first time that the reduction was canceled because it was found to be illegal.
