James Franco reached an amicable settlement with his accusers.

The

actor

, accused of sexual harassment by several students of his drama school Studio 4, has decided to avoid a very embarrassing trial.

According to

The Guardian

, both sides told a Los Angeles superior court judge the case was now closed.

Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal, two young Studio 4 students, had filed a complaint, claiming that James Franco would have encouraged them to act in sex scenes that were "well beyond acceptable standards in Hollywood".

The actor would have "sought to create a breeding ground for young women who have been subjected to his personal and professional sexual exploitation in the name of education", suggesting that roles could be offered to those who played the game. would be produced in 2014 and 2017.

Fix the problem

After two years of negotiations and an outcome far from any media hype, James Franco no doubt hopes to be able to move on, while his career has been undermined by these accusations, which he has continued to deny.

"These accusations are false and inflammatory, without legal basis and brought in the form of a class action with the obvious aim of attracting as much publicity as possible for plaintiffs eager for attention", had argued the lawyers of the star in their initial response to the complaint.

However, the star of

Freaks and Geeks

had said on

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

: “If I did something wrong, I'll fix it.

I must do it, ”he had promised in 2018.

Two years later, he did so.

The amount of the agreement between the two parties was not disclosed.
