The first round of the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U20 2021) ended on February 22 with the qualifications of Morocco, Gambia and Ghana for the quarter-finals of CAN U20 2021. Mauritania, host country of this tournament, is eliminated.

It's already over for the Mauritania team in the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN U20 2021).
Third in Group A behind the Cameroonians and Ugandans, the Mauritanians failed to secure a place in the quarterfinals of CAN U20 2021. Only the two best thirds in the group stage could continue the adventure.
However, with 3 points, they do less well than the Tunisians, 3rd in group B with 4 points, and the Ghanaians, 3rd in group C with 4 points as well.
The juniors of Ghana were surprised 1-2 by those of Gambia who finished second behind the Moroccans.
Atlas Cubs who dominated 3-0 eliminated Tanzanians on February 22.

As a result, in the next round, the posters will be Cameroon-Ghana and Morocco-Tunisia on February 25, then Burkina Faso-Uganda and Central African Republic-Gambia on February 26.
