A young man was shot dead Monday at the beginning of the afternoon, in a popular district of Angoulême (Charente), we learned from a source close to the case.
Contacted by AFP, the Angoulême prosecutor's office confirmed the homicide, without communicating more details at this stage on the circumstances and the motive.
The drama took place in a building in the Basseau district, a district known as "republican reconquest".
The victim was hit by a firearm in particular in the chest and was found face down by residents, said the source close to the file.
The investigators went to the scene, as well as the judicial identification and the prosecutor of the Republic of Angoulême.
