Two donors take care of Ibrahim's treatment for a year

Two donors ended the suffering of “Ibrahim - a Syrian - 70 years old”, by providing for the cost of his treatment in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi for a year at an amount of 30 thousand and 672 dirhams, as a donor guaranteed payment of 15 thousand and 672 dirhams, while a donor paid 15 thousand dirhams.

The "hotline" coordinated between the donors and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, to transfer the donation amount to the patient's account at the hospital.

Yesterday, "Emirates Today" published the story of Ibrahim's suffering with the disease, and his inability to manage the cost of his treatment in Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, as a result of his stroke, and his undergoing an open heart operation. According to the report issued by the hospital, he needs treatment for a year at a cost of 30 thousand and 672 dirhams, and he had appealed to someone to help him pay the costs of his treatment in light of the difficult circumstances he was going through.

Ibrahim expressed his thanks and gratitude to the donors and their noble stance to help him, stressing that "it is not strange for the people of the state to stand together and support them to help those who are unable, as this indicates the translation of the humanitarian charitable work policy in the state."

He said, "I was pleased with the phone call from the (hotline) employees in (Emirates Today) newspaper to inform me of the news of sponsoring my treatment, as I was overwhelmed with unspeakable happiness, especially since I stopped taking my medications for a long time."

Ibrahim had told the newspaper: “Three years ago, my health worsened, as I had a stroke that made me stay in the hospital for a long time, after which other illnesses came to me, and I entered the emergency department in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, because I was suffering from heart health problems, and I underwent medical examinations. To diagnose my condition, after which the doctors decided to perform an open-heart operation.

He continued, "The doctors decided to prescribe medication for chronic diseases for an unspecified period, in addition to my need for physical therapy."

He continued, "I am the only breadwinner for my family of five, but due to my old age and illness, I became unable to work, and my children stopped studying two years ago, due to my inability to pay the tuition fees."
