145

The data reflect the status of the RKI dashboard from Sunday at 3:10 a.m., subsequent changes or additions to the RKI are possible.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the RKI has
counted 2,386,559
detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 in Germany (as of February 21, 3:10 a.m.).
The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher since many infections are not detected.
The total number of people who died with or with a proven infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to
67,841
.
The RKI gave the nationwide
seven-day R-value
on Saturday afternoon as
1.07
(previous day 1.01).
That is the highest value in several weeks.
This means that 100 infected people theoretically infect 107 more people.
This could indicate that the more contagious virus variants are spreading faster despite the lockdown.

Austria
plans to carry out a total of around three million antigen tests and also PCR tests per week, as the Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.
This means that every third Austrian would be checked once a week to see whether they are infected with the corona virus.
Most recently, 200,000 people across Austria were checked for the coronavirus within 24 hours, 45,000 of which were PCR tests, as the news agency dpa reported on Saturday.
In relation to the number of inhabitants, this is significantly more than in Germany, which is not expanding its test offers until March 1st.
Since the lockdown was relaxed, the seven-day incidence in Austria has risen from around 100 to around 115.
At the same time, the situation in the clinics is stable.
