Thousands of parking tickets were drawn up illegally in Marseille between the months of January 2018 and December 2019, reveals

La Provence,

which assesses the damage at least 17,000 euros for motorists.

The regional daily draws these figures from the Paid Parking Litigation Commission, opposed to the city of Marseille in this case.

The Council of State, in a decision dated December 23, has in fact rejected the appeal of the city of Marseille which contested the illegality of its minutes.

The price of the post-parking package in the various sectors of the municipality of Marseille, in the amount of 17 euros, was the subject, in the appendix, of a deliberation by the Marseille municipal council on October 3, 2016. But, the judges underline, on the date on which the disputed post-parking packages were established, the annex in question was neither displayed nor advertised, including by electronic means, such as the law requires it.

The situation has since been regularized by the city on December 1, 2019. Still, according to a lawyer interviewed by our colleague, it is no longer possible to contest the reports received before this date, the legal deadlines having passed.
