It appears in a list of awards in the middle of La Fenice in Venice, the Opera House in Sydney, or the Bolshoi in Moscow… According to

, the Bordeaux Opera is therefore one of the 15 mythical venues around the world , which you must have seen at least once in your life.

The classification also retained no less than four other French venues (the Olympia and the Moulin Rouge in Paris, the Royal Opera of Versailles and the Tony Garnier hall in Lyon).

And some may be entitled to wonder why they chose the Bordeaux Opera rather than the Garnier Palace in Paris.

First, perhaps because the Bordeaux building, delivered in 1780, preceded the Paris Opera, inaugurated a century later, in 1875. Then, Géo recalls that the majestic staircase of the Grand-Théâtre designed by Victor Louis, had inspired Charles Garnier to design that of the Paris Opera.

Hugues Gall, former director of the Opéra Garnier, even said that Charles Garnier had been "fascinated" by the whole of Victor-Louis' Grand-Théâtre.

To justify its choice, the magazine also highlights "its twelve Corinthian columns", its "exceptional acoustics thanks to its wooden frame", and "its chandelier and its dome".

We could have added the twelve stone statues representing three goddesses and nine muses.

The Opéra de Bordeaux does not shy away from its pleasure, and emphasizes on social networks that this highlighting is one more opportunity to hope that the theaters, still closed to the public due to the coronavirus epidemic, come out soon shade
