Stereo Total was founded in 1993 in Berlin by Francoise Cactus and Brezel Göring.

Their music was a mix of musical styles and the first two records contained all sorts of ingredients such as analog synths, cassette recorders, a typewriter, punk and French chanson music.

In 2001, they released the album Musique Automatique and then toured around the world for ten years.

The band also recorded film music and did radio theater.

"We are devastated to announce that our beloved friend, singer and drummer Francoise Cactus has passed away.

She died quietly in her home this morning, February 17, 2021, of cancer.

Rest in peace, our friend! ”, The band writes on their website.

Francoise Cactus turned 57 years old.
