On the morning of the 17th, a 29-year-old police officer was found lying down with blood bleeding from his head in the toilet of the Ushiku police station in Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and was taken to the hospital but died.

Since there was a pistol nearby, the police are investigating in detail, assuming that they attempted suicide with a pistol based on the situation at the scene.

Around 10 am on the 17th, a colleague police officer found a 29-year-old police officer bleeding from his head in a toilet on the 5th floor of the Ushiku police station in Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture.



The chief police officer was taken to the hospital but died.



According to the police, there was a pistol lent to the chief police officer by the side, so the police are investigating in detail, assuming that they attempted suicide with a pistol based on the situation at the scene.



According to the investigation so far, the chief police officer belongs to the Ushiku branch of the Ibaraki Prefectural Police's automobile police force, and he went to work around 8:30 on the morning of the 17th.



It seems that there was no change when he went to work, but he found a memo that seems to be a suicide note in the locker of the police chief.



Kiyoji Uchida, captain of the Ibaraki Prefectural Police Automobile Police Corps, commented, "It is regrettable that the staff tried to commit suicide using a pistol. Details are under investigation, but we will strive to prevent recurrence."
