Sophie Elizeon was appointed head of the interministerial delegation for the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred (Dilcrah), this Wednesday in the Council of Ministers.

Current prefect of Aude, she takes over from Frédéric Potier, delegate since May 2017, who announced his departure last January.

Overseas and women's rights

Of Reunion origin, Sophie Elizeon was Prefect of the Territoire de Belfort and then of Aude, but she also worked on the issue of discrimination in previous positions, in particular as an interministerial delegate for equal opportunities for the French overseas. from 2012 to 2015, and as regional delegate for women's rights and equality between women and men of Reunion Island between 2007 and 2012.

She holds a graduate degree in business administration and finance (ESC Pau) and a master's degree in sociology applied to local development (Louis Lumière University in Bron), according to a press release from Elisabeth Moreno.
