In order to protect and increase "Sagisou", a type of orchid that grows naturally in the Kurozo Marsh in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, local elementary school students made seedlings for transplanting to the marsh.

White egret flower is a kind of wild orchid that has a flower that looks like a bird's sword spreading its wings.

It grows naturally in the Kurozo Marsh in Ikeda Town, Miyoshi City, but the number has decreased due to overfishing, and the local Miyoshi Elementary School is working on conservation activities with local people.

On the 16th, 11 children in grades 2 to 4 participated and local people dug out small bulbs of about 5 mm to 1 cm from the soil where the white egret flower was rooted.

This year, more bulbs grew than usual, so the children took out about 1000 bulbs in about an hour and planted two bulbs in pots containing water moss to resemble the environment of the moor. I went.

The pots are placed on the balcony of the classroom, where children water the seedlings daily to grow seedlings and replant them in the moor in June.

The children who participated said, "I want them to bloom a lot," and "I want to go see them with my mother when they bloom beautifully."
