(New Year's visit to the grassroots) Hong Kong singer's "Zhe Diao" Spring Festival: Sing a new prelude to life

China News Service, Hangzhou, February 16 (Zhang Yuhuan) A tavern in Hangzhou on the night of the Spring Festival holiday.

Wearing a fisherman hat, Chen Yiguang, dressed as hip-hop on the stage, sometimes sang love songs affectionately, and sometimes interacted closely with the audience in a little bit of mandarin.

"Hi, I'm Chen Yiguang from Hong Kong, happy Chinese New Year everyone!"

Three hours ago, he had just taken the high-speed train from Jiashan, Zhejiang to Hangzhou East Railway Station, and then took more than an hour of public transportation to arrive here-this is also Chen Yiguang's work schedule since the 29th of the Chinese New Year.

Amidst the flames of the world, this 35-year-old "dream chaser" set foot on a new land and opened a new prelude to his life.

"I have been sent to a choir in Hong Kong for training by my parents since I was 5 years old." Chen Yiguang said that 30 years ago, my musical dream was planted.

At that time, his parents' "unintentional actions" made him become interested in singing.

"When I was young, I was like all my friends who liked singing. I wanted to be a singer and an entertainer who can be on TV. Whether in the past or now, probably many children have this dream." Chen Yiguang said.

During the Spring Festival, Chen Yiguang played with his family in Jiashan, Zhejiang.

But like most people, he knows that sometimes dreams are just a "supper" in real life.

"Our parents did not support art work as a full-time job in the previous generation. So I, like many young people, learn vocal music with my teacher part-time and part-time, and participate in competitions when I'm free." Chen Yiguang said. At the age of 27, a mishap cruise performance made him firm in his belief in becoming a full-time artist.

"I feel that dream and work are different. Many people's work is just to deal with your life. There is no enthusiasm in going to work every day, but if you choose something you like, for example, I just like singing, suddenly there is a The opportunity allows me to perform on stage, and I will give my utmost enthusiasm to prepare."

Abandoning his original job, Chen Yiguang signed a contract with a music company under Hong Kong Cable Television in 2007 and made his debut as a singer.

Since then, he has performed in Malaysia, Singapore and other places.

However, with the slowdown in the development of Hong Kong's performing arts industry in recent years, and the sudden outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Hong Kong entertainment performances "shut down". Chen Yiguang and many people around him "automatically shut down" and have to start looking for new opportunities.

“It is true that a large number of Hong Kong artists came to the Mainland after their work stopped due to the epidemic. They are mainly in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, because Hong Kong artists are relatively well-known locally. If they are film artists, many will go to Hengdian, Zhejiang, because The crew over there did not stop work." Chen Yiguang said.

In his opinion, there are more and more performance stages in the mainland, but it does take a lot of effort to find one that suits you.

In September 2020, Chen Yiguang brought his wife and children to Jiashan, Zhejiang.

Just like quitting his job and becoming a full-time singer, this time he gave up the familiar environment in Hong Kong and came to the mainland. For the second time, he rebuilt his "fortress".

“It’s always difficult to get started because there is no accumulation of resources. This time I came to Zhejiang to work mainly because my wife’s cousin has been doing business here for more than ten years, so we can be counted as relying on relatives.” Chen Yiguang was pleased. Yes, he found this resident singing job in Hangzhou more than a month ago and is quite satisfied with the new environment.

"The people here are very professional. The colleagues in the music department or the catering department are very serious in their work. They are a team with high requirements." What moved Chen Yiguang even more was that the company understood his situation in Jiashan and Hangzhou. Arrange him to work for two consecutive days, so that he can save money on the road.

When Chen Yiguang talked about his own experience, he didn't realize how hard it was, he just felt that "love is greater than the sky".

"Being an artist must have enthusiasm. If we don't have enthusiasm and we are not happy, how can we make all the people who listen to our songs happy?

For him, this year is also a very special year.

This is the first time he has separated from his family in Hong Kong for the New Year.

"Without this epidemic, Hong Kong's New Year would be even more lively." Chen Yiguang recalled that celebrating the New Year as a child was the happiest time of the year. Due to the high pressure of life in Hong Kong, the Spring Festival holiday was a rare and relaxing gathering time of the year. .

He still remembered that every year on the second day of the Lunar New Year, he would go to Tsim Sha Tsui with his parents to watch the fireworks display in Victoria Harbour. Tens of thousands of people would share the splendor under the sky by the sea, which was an unforgettable beauty.

Today, due to the epidemic, this New Year fireworks display has been suspended for two years.

Chen Yiguang thought, when the epidemic is over, he must go back to Hong Kong and watch the fireworks again with his family.

Right now, Chen Yiguang feels that his new life has gradually improved.

He can sing both Mandarin and Cantonese songs in performances. "In the past, mainland friends’ impressions of Hong Kong Music may still be in the era of Alan Tam and Jacky Cheung. In fact, many good Cantonese songs have appeared in recent years. I want to pass mine. The performance allowed more people to hear the good songs of Hong Kong and promoted our Cantonese culture."

In the same year that Chen Yiguang was born, a song "Below the Lion Rock" was sung.

"Being on the horizon of the cape, working hand in hand to smooth the ruggedness..." In his eyes, this positive and difficult "Lion Mountain spirit" is continuing to inspire generations of ordinary and optimistic Hong Kong people like themselves. In the new era, start your own new story.
