Kumamoto Prefecture has decided to lift its own state of emergency on the 18th of this month, three days ahead of schedule, saying that it is below the national standards.

Kumamoto Prefecture held a countermeasures headquarters meeting at the prefectural office on the 15th, and decided to cancel its own state of emergency three days ahead of schedule on the 18th of this month.

Regarding the reason, Governor Kabashima points out that the bed usage rate in the prefecture improved to 17.1% as of the 14th, and all the indicators were below the national standards.

With the cancellation of the declaration, the request for shortening the business hours until 10 pm for restaurants serving alcoholic beverages in the center of Kumamoto City will also be canceled at 5 am on the 18th.

On the other hand, Governor Kabashima is demanding that even after the declaration is lifted, he will continue to refrain from moving to endemic areas and taking actions that could lead to the spread of the infection, such as drinking and meetings until late at night.
