The SNUipp-FSU can no longer take the reversals of the Ministry of National Education on the health protocol and let it be known.

The teachers' union pointed out on Saturday what it considers to be a step back from the ministry on variants: "The new protocol now assimilates the English variant to the general case of Covid, taking up the rule of three confirmed cases to close a class.

As for the South African and Brazilian variants, they will no longer automatically lead to the definition of contact cases for staff.

"

The union notes that this is already the third change in two weeks.

"The first two modifications made it possible to better protect by establishing the precautionary principle as a rule, particularly in the event of the discovery of a variant", specifies the SNUipp-FSU.

And for good reason: the number of closed classes has significantly increased during the weekly National Education update on the issue.

This while one of the three zones had already been on school vacation for a week.

“It is not enough to break the thermometer to lower the fever.

(…) This reduction in the protocol will increase the circulation of the virus in schools and families, ”thinks the union.

In recent days, in Moselle and in the North, departments very affected by the new variants, elected officials have demanded the closure of schools.

They were not heard by the authorities who decided, until then, to follow the school calendar as planned.
