  • Guided tours by blue bike are offered by the association Vagues de Soleils to discover or rediscover the external heritage of the city of Nice.

  • Zumba classes are offered on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday for one hour.

  • It is also possible to clear the mind with the carnival atmosphere despite everything across the city.

After two confinements and with a curfew, still in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., it is difficult to find time to practice other activities than going to work or shopping.

For those who have reached their limits with videoconferencing,

offers three ideas for airing body and mind in Nice.

Guided tours by blue bike to discover "an open-air museum"

Since December 20, the cultural association Vagues des soleils has been offering guided tours of the city by blue bike, the self-service system in Nice.

“Our usual audience has not really followed the internet and conference approach on Zoom,” says Olivier Romain, president of the association.

What they like are real events with contact ”.

The offer is available for five people in addition to the guide.

The 2h30 outing is accessible to all levels.

Olivier Romain continues: “The guide wants to involve her clients, so they don't just listen.

The advantage is that you can do more places than if you weren't on foot.

And we discover the heritage that surrounds us in a different way ”.

According to the president of the association, "there is a real revival for this activity which had not worked so much when it was proposed this summer".

“People want to go out, to move, but above all to be together,” he adds.

A friendship drink is always provided at the end of each event, included in the price of the visit (20 euros).

Other outings are planned in the face of strong demand for these “open-air museum visits that we never stop discovering”, concludes the Niçois.

Zumba with a point of view

At the top of the castle hill, passers-by who came to enjoy the viewpoint on Wednesday at 4.30 p.m. were surprised when they heard the first notes of lively music.

Mélanie Lopez, a self-employed sports coach, offers a one-hour zumba class (for 5 euros) on this ideal spot.

“We have space, we can have more than a meter of distance during the session.

Then, it's common sense and everyone's responsibilities, ”she says.

Since the end of the second confinement, she has been giving dance lessons three times a week.

“There are the regulars, the ones I had in the club.

Others see what we do, take the information and join us for the next session.

It is above all a pretext to let off steam and get together, having a good time while practicing physical activity, ”admits Mélanie Lopez.

Sybil Metay, one of the students, confirms: “I come from Villefranche by bike with five girlfriends.

Fortunately there is the zumba class.

It's been a year since I last danced, but it's also especially good for morale.

In addition, we have a sumptuous view ”.

To test, book your place using the MYS Sessions application or directly at the top of the hill on Monday and Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. or Saturday at 10 a.m.

Live the Nice carnival despite everything

While many events are held online, it is possible to enjoy the Nice Carnival vibe across the city.

From February 16, a structure will be installed on Place Masséna.

The latter will also be in the spotlight next weekend by being flowered with mimosas (a ton of flowers has been ordered) to honor the flower battles.

During the school holidays, from February 20 to March 7, the Promenade des Anglais will present an exhibition to promote the know-how of carnival lovers by retracing the history and traditions of carnival.

The famous cremation of the structure will take place on February 27.
