They are immense… so much is it for the new occupant of the White House to reconquer the continent after a Trump presidency which has oscillated between humiliations, threats and other insults against a background of great neglect.

Abandonment which increased Chinese and Russian interests in the region.

Latin America, the traditional zone of influence of the world's leading power, has today become a major strategic confrontation ground with China, the systemic rival of the United States.
