Kumamoto Prefecture and Kumamoto City announced on the 12th that a total of five new people were found to be infected with the new coronavirus.
Infection was confirmed in 3 people in Ashikita Town and 1 person each in Kumamoto City and Hitoyoshi City, for a total of 5 people.
Of these, the ones confirmed to be infected in Ashikita Town were all residents of the Mitsuba Gakuen, a support facility for persons with disabilities in the town, and were women in their 50s.
With this, a total of 3403 people have been confirmed to be infected in the prefecture.
