The Medicines Agency has just pointed out "signals to watch" on the adverse effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine, intended primarily for caregivers under 65 years of age.

It could cause flu-like symptoms and campaigns have been suspended in several establishments.

After the delivery delays in the European Union and the efficiency problems on the Covid-19 variants, here are the unexpected side effects of the vaccine from the AstraZeneca laboratory.

This indeed nails the nursing staff to bed, with symptoms related to the flu state.

The Medicines Agency (ANSM), which pointed out Thursday "signals to watch", noted 150 side effects in health workers who were vaccinated this week with the serum, intended primarily for caregivers under 65 years .

Suspended vaccinations

"It is a flu syndrome with a high fever, aches", details Thierry Amouroux, spokesperson for the National Union of Nursing Professionals.

"The hospitals were in the logic of vaccinating an entire department on a given day. They found themselves the next day with 15% of the workforce stopped. There are therefore a number of establishments which have suspended the AstraZeneca vaccination to reorganize themselves. . "

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> The English variant would cause slightly different symptoms

> Not recommended for people over 65, who will be injected with the AstraZeneca vaccine?

> Audio, webcams ... When technology adapts to teleworking

> Containment is good for the planet

> How will the vaccination passport work in Denmark?

These suspensions concern establishments in Saint-Lô, Brest, Morlaix, as well as two Parisian hospitals.

The Medicines Agency also recommends staggering vaccinations in hospitals so as not to bed all caregivers at the same time.

Pfizer vaccine alert

These drawbacks have another consequence: caregivers no longer scramble to get the AstraZeneca serum injected.

Many are even surprised that it is recommended to them when they are particularly exposed to the virus.

"We want the Rolls, give us Pfizer and not second-class vaccine," pleaded a nurse with Europe 1 on Friday morning.

On Thursday, the ANSM launched another alert, this time concerning the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine.

Sudden hypertension was observed in 73 patients.

It is short-lived, but the Medicines Agency monitors these signals very closely.
