After the announced easing of the corona lockdown in Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony, Hamburg's Second Mayor Katharina Fegebank (Greens) sharply criticized the state governments in Kiel and Hanover.

“I am somewhat astonished at the actions of some state governments in our neighborhood,” said Fegebank after a special session of the Senate on Thursday.

All countries would do well to take seriously the decisions of the prime ministers with the chancellor on Wednesday evening.

Fegebank warned against a different approach: "Then we'll get into a kind of relaxed cacophony again."

Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) confirmed that Hamburg will implement the resolutions consistently and without changes.

Because of the uncertainty about the virus variants, now is not the time to discuss opening concepts in Germany.

In Schleswig-Holstein, zoos, wildlife parks, horticultural centers and flower shops are to open on March 1st.

The Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) announced on Thursday in the state parliament.

The same applies to certain indoor sports as well as hairdressing salons and nail salons.

Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) has also announced a few reliefs.

Children up to six years of age should no longer be included in the contact restrictions, sales outlets for plants and flowers should be allowed to reopen, test drives in car and bicycle shops should be permitted.
