The number of Covid 19 patients in intensive care units is falling, fewer people are dying from the disease.

Intensive care physician Stefan Kluge from the University Medical Center Hamburg Eppendorf (UKE) is cautiously relieved.

And considering the past few weeks, he is happy about the extension of the lockdown that the prime ministers have decided.

Nevertheless, he explains, something is missing from the decisions.

WORLD:

Mr. Kluge, it is the first time in months that I am looking forward to asking you the first question - because the number of Covid 19 patients is falling.

How about you on the ward?

Stefan Kluge:

Overall, we are seeing a slow decline in the number of Covid 19 patients in Germany.

At the University Hospital Hamburg there are currently 22 intensive care patients with Covid-19, that is still 2.5 intensive care units.

But yes, it gets better!
