This is what Canal + is doing on Monday evening, with the first live broadcast in the history of its new VOD platform.

She will indeed broadcast "Friends", the play by Amanda Sthers and David Foenikos.

Kad Merad, who plays in it - alongside Claudia Tagbo and Lionel Abelanski - and signs the staging explains in "Culture Media" Thursday, how the channel has deployed a new device, inspired by the retransmission of football matches.

The play "Friends" tells the story of Pierre, played by Kad Merad, who is going to meet a man on the fictional application "Amitic", who pretends to be his best friend and blackmailed him to really become one. , thanks to the investigation carried out on him. 

Backstage cameras

To capture this representation, Canal + will deploy no less than eight cameras.

"Canal has innovated a lot in the field of broadcasting sports matches," observes Kad Merad.

"The idea is to have, in the same way, a little different access to the theater".

Some of these eight cameras will indeed allow viewers to discover what they would not see in the theater: behind the scenes.

"We have innovated, with cameras that will walk during costume changes and during scenery changes," reveals Kad Merad.

"Amis" is broadcast live on Canal VOD, Monday evening at 9pm.
