American actress Gina Carano, who played the mercenary Karasinthia Dune in the first two seasons of The Mandalorian (Star Wars franchise), will no longer return to work on the project.

Carano will not appear in other Lucasfilm films either, a studio spokesman said.

“Lucasfilm is currently not working with Gina Carano and has no plans to hire her in the future,” said a statement released after netizens criticized the actress for her posts on social media.

In one of the messages, Carano compared the current political situation in the United States with Nazi Germany.

“Jews in the streets were not beaten by Nazi soldiers, but by neighbors ... and even children.

Because of the rewriting of history, most people today do not understand that in order to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could drive thousands of Jews out of the way, their own authorities first forced the population to hate Jews simply because they were Jews.

How is this different from hating someone for his political views? "- quotes the actress Deadline.

This publication by Carano was later removed, but managed to cause the outrage of readers.

“As a Jewess, it seems fucking vile and pointless to me.

Gin Carano needs to be held accountable.

The oppression that my people have faced because of our religion and nationality is not the same as political divisions, ”wrote a Twtter user.

Other bloggers accused Carano of anti-Semitism and called on Lucasfilm to remove her from the project, arguing that such a person cannot play a fighter against tyranny.

There were those who called Carano not too talented actress and "the antipode of Disney in a skirt", supporting everything that the studio opposes.

"The moment when a transphob, anti-Semite, police sycophant, covid denier and Trump supporter plays a character who has fought against oppression and tyranny all his life," reads one of the tweets.

that moment when a transphobic, antisemitic, police bootlicker, covid denier and trump supporter plays a character who fought her whole life against oppression and tyranny.

“Kara Dune fought for the Rebel Alliance, which opposes everything that Jin gives out.

This is not a culture of cancellation, but real consequences.

The point is not that she is a Republican, but that she spews out evil and hatred, ”said another user of the social network.

Lucasfilm also agreed that "its culturally and religiously demeaning posts on social media are terrible and unacceptable."

Gina Carano has repeatedly found herself in the center of scandals before because of her statements on social networks.

The actress ridiculed wearing medical masks, and also claimed that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.

In addition, Carano announced that she would use the Parler application instead of other social networks, a platform whose significant audience is conservative supporters and Donald Trump.

Earlier, Carano was criticized for blocking accounts supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, and was also accused of transphobia (after the actress, in response to a call to put a personal pronoun in her biography on Twitter, posted the words "boop / bop / beep" on her profile, which many considered it a mockery).

Some social media users have begun to urge Lucasfilm to stop working with Carano after past scandals.

However, then there were those who took the side of the artist, calling such measures an example of censorship and a culture of abolition that went too far.

Recently, many representatives of show business have found themselves in the center of scandals because of statements that contradict the generally accepted rhetoric.

One of the most striking examples is the persecution of the British writer J.K. Rowling.

In the summer of 2020, Rowling tweeted the headline for an article about creating a more equitable society for menstruating people, and jokingly noted that these people used to be called women.

The post drew backlash from many netizens who accused Rowling of hating transgender people.

Later, she wrote a number of materials in which she tried to convey her position, but this did not save the situation: the writer began to actively persecute in social networks.

In the same summer, it went to actor Hartley Sawyer, who played the superhero Ralph Dibney in The Flash.

The network recalled the racist tweets of the artist eight years ago.

As a result, he was fired from the project.

Earlier, Disney had fired director James Gunn, who directed the first two installments of the Guardians of the Galaxy series, because of the 2008-2009 tweets in which the filmmaker joked about pedophilia and violence.

A year later, the director returned to the company.
