  • Hervé is one of the male revelations of the year at the Victoires de la musique, alongside Hatik and Noé Preszow.

  • During the ceremony on Friday, the singer promises to "send maximum energy and good vibes."

  • The same day, he will also unveil “Hyper-prolongations”, the reissue of his first album with five new titles.

When we met Hervé at the beginning of last June, we were in the midst of deconfinement.

A wind of freedom hovered in the air, and joy.

In particular for the singer who was finally preparing to release his first album

Hyper

, whose release had been delayed because of the pandemic.

"I was no longer touching the ground!

I absolutely wanted the disc to come out, he explains with hindsight at

20 Minutes

, by interposed screens this time.

I could have told myself to wait until October, for the concerts to resume, I'm still a guy from the scene and I'm supposed to make myself known through festivals, the first parts… But I wanted to release it, and when I feel like I have no limit.

As long as my body follows, I go ”.

But his enthusiasm again hit the vagaries of the “Covid weather”, to use his own words.

Because after a certain summer lull, the time for re-containment and curfews has reappeared, as well as the concert cancellations which go hand in hand ... A gloomy climate which has not however stopped the momentum of the energetic Hervé, the one of the male revelations at the Victoires de la musique this year.

Despite everything hyperactive

As during the first confinement, the artist took advantage of the periods of restrictions to create, compose and record.

He has spent the last few months polishing the five new titles

of Hyper-prolongations

, the reissue of his album which comes out on Friday.

It was also during the recording that Hervé learned of his nomination for the Victories which will take place on the same day as this outing.

" I was happy !

Extremely because I was finishing the reissue, I was at the end of my rope.

I wondered what 2021 was going to look like, and I told myself that it would continue, that I was going to be able to continue to defend my record, my music, ”he confides.

Apart from a few dates at the end of the summer (and an Olympia already full on March 26th if all goes well), Hervé was unable to defend his album on stage.

Despite the frustration, the young artist did not rest on his laurels.

“In fact, it's been a year where I didn't stop for a second,” he explains.

The absence of live is a feeling of lack, which is there, I feel that a piece of the puzzle is really missing.

But it allowed me to make new titles, to dig into myself, to dig deep enough to try to deliver cool creative content and interact with people.

That was the challenge, and it was a time when we had to get out of the music too because it's our role to get out of the sound.

"

A caffeinated wink

In this desert of concerts, however, a strange event marked the year of Hervé.

Failing to have been able to discover his music on stage, the public was able to get to know him through the small screen, daily, thanks to a cup of coffee.

For its last advertising spot, the Carte Noire brand has indeed taken up its song

Si bien du mal

, caffeinated to perfection.

But much more, she took the codes of her video clip made in full confinement (the first), a delirium shot in her father's kitchen in Brittany.

In this video which has accumulated more than a million views on YouTube, Hervé was preparing pancakes between two fiery dance steps.

“I saw the spot and thought it was cool.

The funny thing is I have a pack of Carte Noire in the original clip!

», Laughs the singer.

An unusual nod to his world as invigorating as an espresso, and an unparalleled window to discover his music.

And Hervé is well aware of it: “There was the album, the clips… The ad came out at the start of the school year, the track went on the radio, after I toured.

Then there will be the Victories and the reissue ... For advertising I am not in control because they are the ones who decided to take it over, but it makes me like levers, a sort of buoy that brings me there ”.

On Friday they will therefore bring him to the Victories stage, where of course, Hervé intends to let off steam.

“I'm going to try to do as much performance as possible and be myself, I'm not going to put on a sequined costume because it's the Victories.

Sometimes you give it all and it doesn't take, but the only certainty I have is that I really want to give it all.

Send a maximum of energy and good vibes so that people have a good time on their TV, like a live, ”he promises.

And we trust him to dynamite this ceremony which promises to be special, without an audience… The last one, fingers crossed.
