The Directorate General of Health announced on Wednesday that nearly 2.5 million vaccinations against Covid-19 had been carried out in France since the start of the campaign.

So 3.1% of the population received at least one first injection.

The government wants to reach 4 million people vaccinated by the end of February.

While the government hopes to reach the mark of four million French people vaccinated by the end of the month, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) released its new figures on Wednesday.

Nearly 2.5 million vaccinations have therefore been carried out in France since the start of the campaign.

The proportion of French people having received at least the first injection represents 3.1% of the total population.

The DGS also specifies that, among those vaccinated, 60% are women.

It also indicates that Occitanie, Grand-Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Ile-de-France and Nouvelle-Aquitaine are the five regions with the most people who have received two injections of the vaccine against the coronavirus.

People over 75 always have priority

The campaign is expected to accelerate with the arrival of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

But it is initially reserved for caregivers, the Haute Autorité de Santé having recommended that the use of this vaccine should not be done on people over 65 years of age, due to a lack of available data on its effectiveness in this class of 'age.
