With the participation of 400 Arab and foreign photographers, displaying about 1558 photos and stories, the activities of the fifth edition of the International Festival of Photography (Xposure) will be launched today, celebrating the art of photography and the creativity of a group of photographers, including 51 of the world's brightest photographers, until February 13th, at Expo Center Sharjah .

This year, the event is organizing 54 exhibitions, including 41 solo and 13 group exhibitions, while it holds 21 inspiring discussion sessions, 14 workshops, 10 group discussion sessions, and 14 technical progress evaluation sessions. For the first time, a special prize for accredited professional photojournalists is launched. Around the world, at a time when he received the largest number of entries in the history of his awards, it reached 33,187 entries from 125 countries, in addition to launching Gallery X, and commercial products for the exhibition.

The festival this year hosts a group of the world's brightest photographers, including the British photographer Anthony Lamm, who resides between London and Dubai, in photography of fine arts, and who confirms that “the world is full of beauty that we must protect ... the picture is a fleeting moment that is captured in a timely manner, but We are running out of time, as we can only correct. ”

Indian street photographer Ashok Verma, who launched his career in 1995, until he became one of the most prominent names in the field, also states that "the experiences that the photographer experiences in his life produce original works that leave a mark on his career."

The Pakistani photographer Atef Saeed, who is known for his various photographic styles and his love for nature, and who places great emphasis on light, will participate in the festival, as he takes his time during the year to take a photo of natural scenes with high professionalism, as he describes the photography process as related to the human mechanism of thinking.

The audience will meet with the traveler, Brian Hodges, an expert in travel documentation and magazine photography, and the festival will host a selection of names, most notably the Dutch photographer Chris de Bode, a collaborator with Save the Children, to complete his project documenting the dreams of children around the world. It covers various topics related to Syrian refugees, and the festival also hosts the British journalist Claire Thomas, who deals with conflict and conflict affairs, and the Russian photographer and explorer, Daniel Cordan, a lover of nature and travel.

This year, the Italian photographer Francesco Zizola, who specializes in depicting global conflicts and their hidden crises, will participate in the festival, which focuses in the contents of his work on social and humanitarian issues affecting life in the developing world and Western countries.

This year, the festival will host photographer Muhammad Al-Muhaisen, a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, who specializes in documenting the refugee crisis around the world.

In addition to the Russian photographer Sergei Ponomarev, who is best known for his work covering wars and conflicts in the Middle East, and the Egyptian photographer Mohamed Kamal, who specializes in landscape photography and portraiture.

The event organizes 21 discussion sessions, 14 workshops and 10 group discussion sessions.

The festival launches a special prize for photojournalists around the world.
