An armed man opened fire on Tuesday in a clinic in the small town of Buffalo, Minnesota, and according to media reports, at least five people were injured.

One person has been arrested, the police said.

The background to the crime was initially unclear.

The police were called to the Allina Health Clinic shortly before 11 a.m. (local time, 6 p.m. CET), as police chief Pat Budke told KSTP.

An injured woman was flown to a hospital with three gunshot wounds, according to a media report.

According to local media, there was no longer any further threat to the Buffalo population. The city is a good 60 kilometers northwest of Minneapolis.
