[Commentary] On February 9, the ninth batch of China's aid to Ghana medical team formed by Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou Panyu District Central Hospital, and Guangzhou Panyu District Hexian Memorial Hospital, started on December 28, 2019. After completing the medical assistance mission in Ghana, Africa in 390 days, spanning 12,000 kilometers, he returned to Guangzhou safely.

When we provide services to Chinese compatriots, as long as they need it, we are 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We always keep our mobile phones on so that Chinese compatriots can contact us at any time.
[Explanation] The medical team started in December 2019 with the original medical assistance plan. However, shortly after arriving in Ghana, a new crown pneumonia epidemic occurred in China, and then there were cases imported from Europe in Ghana. This has also increased the difficulty of the medical team’s work.
The captain of the medical team, Shi Yongyong, is now home. Looking back on the past year, the captain, who has successfully overcome numerous difficulties, still tears in his eyes.

Yes, it’s been a year. It’s really difficult. I’m sorry. It just happened that before we set off, we were prepared to face difficulties and to endure hardships, but the arrival of the new crown epidemic did add a lot to us. Difficulties.
Because the Ghanaian epidemic had just started at that time, we had an operation on Friday. Who knew that on Saturday, we were notified by the hospital that another local doctor in Ghana who operated on the same day with us was diagnosed.
As a team leader, you can eat any suffering. The most worrying thing is that the health of the team members is problematic. There is no other wish, but to bring the 11 people back safely. This is our biggest idea. Fortunately, we all persist now. Come here to survive, so I really want to thank my players.
[Explanation] According to reports, the medical team fought side by side with local medical staff at the China-Canada Friendship Hospital. On the battlefield against the new crown pneumonia epidemic, they learned from China’s successful domestic anti-epidemic experience and combined with the actual situation in Ghana to formulate a local new crown. Pneumonia epidemic prevention and control program, and nearly 300 compatriots suffering from new coronary pneumonia have been diagnosed and treated.

For example, local colleagues in Ghana lack protective materials. The masks are all masks of that kind of cloth. So sometimes, I will often take some anti-epidemic masks and gloves in our team. These anti-epidemic materials went back and distributed to them.
(During the epidemic) My family was okay, even if my wife went to work, I was a little nervous. I also told her to protect her. The masks were really nervous. She also asked me at the time if you could apply for some masks for me in the hospital. I said no. , I said that the hospital is also very nervous now, think of a solution yourself.
[Explanation] The medical team is also actively spreading the culture of Chinese medicine in Africa, so that Chinese medicine can serve the Chinese people as well as the African people.

Then he sat on this bed with the encouragement of his mother, and then he suddenly said, "I am not afraid of doctors, I remember you, you filmed me last time, I thought it was very strange, because How could a little boy recognize me, and then he said, I recognize the national flag on your clothes. He said it was a five-star red flag. At that time, I felt very touched and moved. I felt that a kid from Ghana could remember the five-star red flag. , So I felt that I was there to do something for them, it felt very valuable and meaningful.
