Recently, the second phase of the repair project from the west gate to the lion building of the ancient city wall in Xiangyang, Hubei, was completed and opened to the public, welcoming many tourists.

In this repair, the original rammed-earth city wall shape in the outer city bricks was restored, a Ximen city platform was built, connected to the city wall of Minzhu Intersection, waterproofing, walking paths, masonry parapets, and the protective display of the lion building site were basically restored This section of the city wall was originally magnificent.

  Before this section of the city wall was repaired, the virtual soil was piled up into hills, weeds and trees were overgrown, a large number of scattered wall bricks were visible on the ground, and there were sporadic modern houses, and temporary retaining walls were used to block the soil.

In 2018, the Xiangyang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted geological exploration, determined the repair of the borderline, provided a reference plan, and was implemented with the approval of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
