The talented Emirati entrepreneur, Hajar Al-Taniji, has become a prominent figure in the design of artistic products at the international level, after her emergence as a distinguished Emirati that is highlighted in a publication of the Rolls-Royce Owners Club and Bentley International entitled “The Pursuit of Excellence: Celebrating the 110th Anniversary of the Inauguration of the Sculpture Icon woman".

Al Tunaiji aims to revive local culture and traditions in a new and contemporary way, by designing various products and gifts inspired by heritage with an artistic vision and high skill, as each handmade piece has its own unique story.

Cultural richness

18 months after the launch of the entrepreneur and creative designer for her own project, Hajar Design Studio, she was invited to showcase her unique creations at Dubai Design Week 2019, and was later chosen to be part of an official book for one of the world's most prestigious car clubs - The International Rolls Owners Club. Royce and Bentley, a symbol of creativity and distinction in modern design and the world of luxury.

At Dubai Design Week 2019, Al Tunaiji showed off some of her exemplary work, including the Al Khail Group.

The line of design, inspired by Arabian horses, is distinguished by leather products, represented in a set of cushion chairs known as "the boufa", which are assembled into a coffee table for the living room, as they symbolize the cultural richness of the UAE, and reflect the importance of purebred Arabian horses an essential and inspiring element of the Emirati heritage In addition to displaying contemporary art sculptures that are also used as a backrest for books.

Al Tanaiji's designs and craftsmanship - environmentally friendly - are also inspired by its authentic Emirati culture, and reflect the spirit of culture and the visible and spoken heritage of the Middle East region, in addition to modern and contemporary design principles.

Local pearls are woven in limited editions that demonstrate their commitment to designs closely related to local traditions and craftsmanship.

Rational beauty

Al Tunaiji, who has worked in the design field for more than 15 years, said: “I want to bring our rich culture and ancient heritage to life in a very modern way, and to tell stories about our unique traditions through my designs.”

It is worth noting that this professional designer is committed to integrating the harmonious beauty of natural materials and craftsmanship with sustainable production.

All of their designs and products are original and reflect a deep understanding and a new interpretation of distinct design practices.

Al Tunaiji grew up in the UAE, and worked to hone her creative skills, during her studies, to obtain a degree from the Higher Colleges of Technology.

She then continued to develop these skills, through specialized courses in interior design at Chelsea College of Art in London and Sotheby's Institute of Art.

To fulfill her dream of launching her own design project, Al Tunaiji opened the studio in order to bridge the gap in the design market, so she conducts extensive research on each project, while seeking to delve into the principles of rational beauty and the practical benefit of art, in addition to timeless designs.

Emirati values ​​are a cornerstone

The founder and owner of Hajar Design Studio, Hajar Al Tunaiji, said: “Hajar Design Studio works on searching for stories or heritage narratives, in order to draw from them practical concepts to help serve clients in the fullest way, in addition to being able to implement modern and unique designs at the same time.

It also reflects cultural identity through traditional crafts using local and environmentally friendly materials.
