Yamaguchi Prefecture announced that it has been confirmed that nine men and women in their teens to 90s living in Iwakuni, Shunan, Ube, and Shimonoseki are infected with the new coronavirus.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the prefecture to 1292.
Yamaguchi Prefecture also announced that a woman in her 60s who had been hospitalized at a medical institution in the prefecture died on the 5th.
A total of 26 people died after being infected with the new coronavirus in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
