Trying to guess who wins the Melodifestivalen is every year something of a competition in the competition when Sweden's largest music competition takes place.

The betting companies offer odds that usually go up and down during the weeks before each sub-competition.

But this year, experts are groping in the dark.

- Yes it is clear, with less information it will be a worse basis.

Maybe we saw a bit of that on Thursday, when 30 seconds of the songs were released that the odds on all the contributions changed quite a bit up and down, says Henrik Holm, betting expert at Unibet.

- Danny is still the favorite, but not by the same margin as before.

No audience survey

But the biggest change in odds usually comes late on Friday night every year when the Melodifestivalklubben publishes the results of the audience survey from the genre rep.

Until then, the tips have to trust those 30-second clips and what journalists and experts say.

And due to the coronary restrictions, no investigation can be conducted this year.

"It will be difficult this year"

The audience surveys are not always correct, but they still usually give a clear picture if there are contributions that have been completely missed by the journalists.

During the first part of the competition last year, most of the pre-talk was about Robin Bengtsson and Felix Sandman.

It was only when the audience survey was published that it became clear that The Mamas was a favorite with the audience.

- Now you do not get a major reliable tip on how it will go this year.

We and the press can of course sit and tip, but you do not get a large base, says Alexander Borodin, chairman of the Melodifestivalklubben.

Does this mean that there may be more barking than usual?

- I think so, it's a bit exciting.

It will be very difficult this year, says Alexander Borodin.

Borodin also states that Melodifestivalen expects a record audience this year when the restaurants are closed and more people are sitting at home in front of the TV.

It can also affect the end result when a partially new audience can find the program and contribute votes.
