In front of 80,000 people gathered at the Auteuil racecourse, near Paris, the group must play before the legendary Englishmen, on a European tour for their album

“It was very impressive,” recalls Jean-Louis Aubert almost 40 years later.

“There were three American groups in the first half. Normally, the country group had to come before all three groups. We wanted to come right before the Rolling Stones. It was very important for us, but I think the technical team took it badly and we had a lot of technical problems. "

Kolinka "began to slide" ...

And then there is "a problem which was somewhat due to us, we did not really see the size of the scene", also admits Jean-Louis Aubert.

"And back then our guitars were wired together. I couldn't reach the mic to say hello to the 80,000 people. So I gave a shoulder, pulled hard and my amp fell off his chair, or his drum. Richard (Kolinka, Telephone drummer) tried to catch him, but he threw water when he got on stage to play smart! "

"

The result is inglorious: "Richard started to slip, Louis (Bertignac, the other guitarist and singer) tried to catch up with him. It was horrible, because we ended up with all four irons in a air, all on the stage, in front of 80,000 people. It was very French, like arriving on stage, "the singer laughs today.
