I found out that there is.

In the accident where a taxi hit pedestrians one after another in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo last month, one person died, and the driver was sick and had an accident, such as an elderly driver suspected of having subarachnoid hemorrhage at that time. There are many cases of waking up.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has analyzed the cases of bus, truck, and taxi drivers causing accidents due to illness for seven years from 2013 to the end, and announced the results.

According to this, there were 23 accidents resulting in injury or death, 66 accidents involving property damage, and 238 cases in which driving was interrupted although the accident did not occur, for a total of 327 cases, a 2.4-fold increase in 2013. It turned out that it is increasing annually.

In addition, a total of 1891 drivers have had accidents or interrupted driving in the last 7 years, and the breakdown of illnesses is heart disease (15%) and brain diseases such as subarachnoid hemorrhage. Was 13% (253 people), aortic aneurysm was 3% (65 people), and others were unknown (58% (1095 people)).

Analysis results of model business of brain examination

In order to consider measures to prevent accidents due to illness, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has been conducting a screening test model project for bus, truck, and taxi drivers to undergo a brain examination since 2018, and based on the analysis results I announced it.

According to the report, of the 4068 drivers who cooperated with the model project, 27 were found to have "highly urgent and abnormal findings" such as aneurysms in the brain examination and subsequent detailed examination.

Of these, 9 cases were restricted or considered by the operator, such as changing the driver's work to a short-distance operation or another work, and 14 cases were receiving consultation guidance or regular interviews.

However, in the case of the remaining four people, the result was that the business operator did not respond.

There were 200 people who were "not urgent but had abnormal findings", of which 53% (107) underwent the required work-up within six months of the visit, but 42% (42%). 83) had not been inspected.

In addition, among those who have been conducting follow-up surveys since 2018, 97 people were said to have "non-urgent but abnormal findings", of which 36% (35 people) were about one and a half years after the consultation. I hadn't undergone a detailed inspection even after passing.

From the questionnaire of the business operator, there was a reply that it led to raising the driver's awareness about the effect of the brain dock and promoting the efforts of the entire company, but it is difficult to respond to the diagnosis result, the employee's There was also an opinion that it was difficult to manage consultations.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is considering creating a mechanism to disseminate examinations of the brain, etc. through a model project at a council of related parties.

Mr. Kazuhiro Sakai, who is the chairman of the council and is familiar with driver's health management, said, "Even if the test result comes out, we have to investigate the cause that the business operator does not respond. What is the business operator and the driver undergoing the inspection? I want to create a system that makes it easy to understand how to do it and how to teach it. "
