It usually sounds completely different when Danny Saucedo is at the Melodifestivalen.

We have seen him with songs like "In the club" and "Amazing".

Both times he finished second - and both times with songs that were made to not only win the Melodifestivalen but also the entire Eurovision.

This year, too, he is the big favorite.

He is expected to go straight to the final on Saturday.

And if we are to believe the betting companies, he is one of those who make up their minds to win the entire Melodifestivalen.

"That's not my focus"

But Danny Saucedo himself has no such plans this year.

Do you want to win this year?

- No, or, that's not my focus.

If he hits the audience and they think I should represent Sweden, so be it.

But that has never been my goal, not with this, he says.

Is there an English language version of the song if that happens?

- No, I will probably run it in Swedish if that were to be the case.

"Want to say something meaningful"

Danny states that he would like to finish second.

But his reluctance to win should still not be seen as him taking the competition with a heel kick.

On the contrary, he tore hard during the genre rope on Thursday to get the number to tune in to the smallest detail.

The song may seem a bit comical at first glance.

He sings about apple pie and macarena.

He sings "stupid" 24 times and "dan" 32 times.

But for him it has a much deeper meaning than you might think when you first listen.

Can you describe what it's about?

- I want to say something meaningful.

I try to be a bit self-critical and socially critical and ask what are we doing?

We know we should take time for ourselves, meditate, go to bed and be present.

But it's pretty nice to be stupid in the head too.

It's fun to be stupid.

It's fun to give in to him.

To be consciously lost at times, he says.

He continues:

- On the whole, there will be a balance between consciousness and unconsciousness.

A yin and a yang.

As long as you are aware of what you should do, you know what you are doing.

That you are aware of both of them instead of living in a box.

The message is reflected in the stage show

And the message he wants to convey in the text is also reflected in the issue - even though the issue may look comical at first glance.

Inspired by the music video for Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity", Danny dances around among a lot of moving boxes.

But it becomes more logical when Danny explains.

- We start in a box full of a lot of boxes where all the inhabitants are quite stiff.

There I come in as a color click and try to make people think outside the box.

And quite rightly, they also leave the box at the end of the issue and come out to something else.
