Elementary school students in Tsuruta Town, Aomori Prefecture, dug out apples that had been stored for about two months in the natural refrigerator "Yukimuro" made of snow, and tasted the fresh texture.

The children of Tsuruta Elementary School in Tsuruta Town dug out apples that a local farmer put in a snow room in early December last year and stored for about two months.

On the 4th, 38 fifth graders visited the farmhouse and shoveled a snow room about 1 meter and 50 centimeters high.

In about 15 minutes, when a box of apples appeared in the snow, the children carefully carried them out one by one.

The apples stored in the snow room lose their sourness and become sweeter, giving them a fresher texture, so the children cut the apples they had just dug out and tasted them on the spot.

One of the boys said, "I enjoyed digging the snow room. Apples are sweet and delicious."

The girl also said, "I thought the Yukimuro apples were full of juice and fresh."
