At Setsubun, elementary and junior high schools in Ogose Town, Saitama Prefecture, are making a unique effort to provide lunch with the theme of the popular manga "Kimetsu no Yaiba" for five days.
This initiative was carried out at three elementary and junior high schools in Ogose Town so that children could have a good lunch time while school events were canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus.
The project was planned by Yosuke Kobayashi, a nutrition teacher at Ogose Elementary School.
Mr. Kobayashi named it "Oni Extermination Lunch" for a five-day menu under the theme of "Kimetsu no Yaiba", which is popular among children, after the Setsubun to exterminate demons. ..
On the 2nd of Setsubun, Mr. Kobayashi and his teacher wore handmade haori and swords, and performed a skit with the character of "Kimetsu no Yaiba".
In this, he talked about the origin of the custom of sowing beans for Setsubun to get rid of demons, and called for a nutritionally balanced diet, regardless of likes and dislikes, because it is a time when it is easy to catch a cold.
And on the 3rd, a special menu lunch of "Kimetsu no Yaiba", which was inspired by the main characters, appeared.
Of these, "Wakame rice" uses edamame and glue to express the haori worn by the main character, Tanjiro Kamado.
In addition, "Chikuwa's Isobe Fried" is a bamboo tube that is sprinkled with green laver and black sesame seeds and is held by my sister, Sadako.
Mr. Kobayashi used to introduce the menu to the children and encourage them to eat everything.
