Doctors: "Corona" and wearing masks raised the demand for plastic surgery

Some types of plastic surgery are witnessing a sudden boom, due to the precautionary restrictions imposed under Corona, the most important of which are masks.

The interest of people in visible areas of the face increased due to wearing the muzzle, such as the area around the eyes, in this regard, the Federation of Plastic Surgeons in Germany said that the demand for plastic surgeries increased in light of the Corona pandemic, in addition to minimally invasive and non-surgical treatments, such as botox injections, according to German site "RNZ".

One of the union doctors added, "Eyelid lift operations are witnessing growth during this period, indicating that this is due to the focus of attention of people who wear masks on the eye area."

The doctor also talked about the benefit of masks after a certain plastic surgery, as he said, "The muzzle covers temporary deformities caused by lip correction operations, such as blue spots, redness or short-term swelling."

The Union of Plastic Surgeons noted an increase in demand for liposuction, among men and women, especially for operations in difficult areas that cannot be eliminated through sport or by changing the diet.

The Federation stated that the number of surgeries in Germany during the year 2020 could exceed 100 thousand surgeries, after the number was about 83 thousand operations in 2019, and 77 thousand operations in 2018.
