In view of the enormous need for vaccines and a growing number of corona mutations, British researchers are testing how effective the combination of two different vaccines is.

They started a clinical trial Thursday to look at immune responses to the administration of two UK-approved vaccines from Biontech / Pfizer and AstraZeneca.

Further preparations could be added later.

In the study, participants are given the two vaccines in a different sequence as the first and second dose.

Refreshment intervals of four and twelve weeks are planned.

According to the National Institute for Health Research, the English study will take part in 800 volunteers aged 50 and over.

The tests are intended to clarify whether more flexibility is possible in the distribution and administration of vaccinations worldwide.

First results are expected in June.
