The National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan is calling attention to the type of magnifying glass that can be worn like eyeglasses, saying that if it is used improperly, it may not look at the displayed magnification or may lead to eye problems.

According to the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan, more than 400 consultations regarding eyeglass-type magnifying glasses have been received at consumer affairs centers nationwide in the five and a half years until October last year.

▽ It was not enlarged according to the displayed magnification.

▽ My eyes flickered during use.

In addition to such things,

▽ I fell while walking while wearing it and broke my bone.

That is also what happened.

When the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan examined 25 types of products, the focal lengths of 25 cm to 51 cm, which were within reach, were magnified and clearly visible, but farther away, they were clearly visible. It means that it wasn't.

Also, according to an ophthalmologist who asked for comments from the center, if you continue to use a magnifying glass that does not fit your eyes, you may feel sick or your eyes may flicker.

For this reason, the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan understands that a magnifying glass is for magnifying something within reach, and unlike reading glasses, it is not used when walking, etc., and it is in your own eyes before purchasing. We check whether it matches and the purpose of use, and if you feel something is wrong, we are calling you to stop using it.
