February 2, 2021 is the 25th "World Wetland Day", and this year is also the 26th year that Qingdao City launched the "Operation to Keep Seagulls".

In the waters near Qingdao's most iconic trestle bridge, seagulls who came to spend the winter arrived again as scheduled.

Thousands of seagulls soar and forage here, attracting many local citizens and tourists to stop and take pictures and feed them, adding a harmonious landscape of humans and birds to Qingdao in winter.

Since 1994, Qingdao has taken the lead in launching the "Operation to Keep Seagulls" in coastal cities in China.

After years of protection, the habitat of Qingdao’s birds has improved significantly. There are more than 20 species of seagulls, with a population of more than 100,000.

There are three main species of seagulls that spend the winter in Qingdao Bay each winter, the smallest individual red-headed gull, the medium-sized black-tailed gull and the largest individual silver gull, and a small number of gray-backed gulls and black-headed gulls occasionally move.
